  1. Its been due for a bit of rework for awhile. But the reason why there isn't more war zones at the moment is the only serve to make PvP different in them at the moment with FFA PvP in same village. They don't really have much else to them. So I added war zones that people can mostly optionally enter. Eventually, It might be that war zones have heavier penalties and perhaps even potentially losing XP and Items. Similar to the wilderness in old school Runescape. As it is, danger zones serve the purpose of incentivising fighting enemies within with bounty system.
  2. We have to fix the guard logic, but right now we have more outstanding issues, so it might take awhile. Thanks for the report!
  3. His point doesn't matter, the post served no purpose but to break the rules and flame staff members. On top of it being untrue and a waste of time, and his previous posts complaining about lag having been taken seriously, responded to and then addressed. His complaint about lag was caused by the server being ran in debug mode while we were trying to fix crashes. Because of the complaints, we took the server down without fixing the crashes and put it in compiled mode. Because of that, the event where 120 people were trying to login at once went badly because the crash bug couldn't be fixed. Because of that he decided the best course of action was to flame the staff for not tending to players complaints. So while the staff are working hard to provide a free to play, 24/7 service to players and running events. It's somehow not warranted to ban people who shame the staff on the forum with a post that serves no purpose except that. What was I supposed to do to that post? Did you perhaps consider that having players do just that is bad for Nin Online as a game service and business because it our forum is public and is the gateway where people first enter to learn about and play the game. We have rules about this exact thing. He broke them. He's banned. If he had a complaint, he could've voiced it. If he wanted to insult staff, he could, through private channels that we provide to contact the main developers of the game. He didn't, he just insulted the staff publicly on OUR public site. That's against the rules. He could've done all of the following, and he would not have gotten banned. 1) Make a youtube video, a website, a reddit post, a tweet about my individual person, insulting me for whatever he likes. 2) Sent a "fuck you, you suck cock" to me through PM or our numerous private channels. 3) Gone off and made his own MMORPG and learn how impossible a task it is to do so without any budget to prove that what I'm doing isn't as hard as it is. 4) Killed an orphan child and sacrificed it to satan to damn my soul. All of those things - not against the rules one bit. Topic closed. If you want to follow in his footsteps, you can continue to insult the staff on the only official public channel we maintain. If what you truly want from Nin Online is to have fun and play a game, you're free to do so never ever being in harms way from getting banned. That's not what the forum is for.
  4. Players who think that the devs are free game or part of the game, harass them and or cause trouble for them aren't worth having around. 1 toxic player banned is 5 non-toxic players stayed. Anyway, always open to more RP level events being held. Always open to feedback, always open to criticism. You're not banned for this post for the very reason that it's not disrespectful or just insulting staff members. We have a suggestions forum for people to make suggestions. The people who get banned for "voicing their opinions" tend to have posts that are just "fuck the staff" "staff X is retarded" "staff X is dumb" "staff x doesn't listen to opinions". Without providing any point to discuss. That's not a suggestion. It's not a unique phenomenon to get banned for such a post. I challenge anyone here to go make a new account on Blizzards forum and make a topic saying "the staff team is shit, doesn't listen to player feedback and the game is shit." and end there and see whether you get banned. Just because Nin Online doesn't have a team of support staff, and so bans come straight from me or a handful of GMs. Everyone thinks a ban here is a personal attack from me. No. It's just me enforcing rules. If you get banned, you broke the rules. It's not weird to enforce rules. Nobody likes having their friends banned. I don't like banning players. Still got to do it.

  12. Dear Ninja, Since a few clans have started taking the initiative to send me designs of clan uniforms or costumes, I would just like to open up this to anyone who sees themselves as leading members of a clan, to come together, discuss and send me anything you can come up with. I cannot guarantee they will be taken, but depending on the quality of work given, some could even just be straight up used the way it is. I’ve seen some great pixel artists up and coming in the community. With people like @Indra contributing to the game almost fully usable artwork in his spare time. If you are interested in doing a complete spritesheet, and you want the Sprite base, you can request it from me personally but you have to show me your abilities and how serious you are to do it! Regards, Ueta

  16. Hi, do you mean that the bar isn't moving? or does it say max? or do you not gain EXP when your mob kills something?
  17. People want exclusivity. If nothing in the game is that hard to get, nothing is worth what those items are. Even if you create 100 items that are less rare than that 1 item, it doesn't replace the need for one item of that rarity. The reason people want those ultra rare items, is because they're ultra rare, they're exclusive. It feels good being the few who has it. If everyone has it, then it no longer has prestige and people will want there to be items that do.
  18. It's probably for the best we just do Chunin Exams for each village. With the imbalance in numbers, it's become hard to make them joint, and the issue of cheating is just a mistake on my part. I shouldn't have trust putting people into the room before the exam started.
  19. If you don't understand why you're banned, that's probably why you're banned.

  20. I know. This is due to the server being ran in debug mode so that we can address bugs. It's not a server instability issue in itself. The problem right now is When it runs out of debug it's not lagging but it crashes. When it runs in debug, it's lagging badly but it doesn't crash. When I said there is no major instability issue since last november, I was referring to the bug that was causing the server to crash regardless of how many players was online every 20 minutes from mid of last year to the november, when we fixed it. That is a major server instability bug. What's not a major server instability bug is the server lagging badly. NOT in contrast to the server not being able to hold a single player. What is not a major server instability bug is the server crashing when there is more players than it can hold during an exam event that a lot of people want to play. There is no server instability issue. There is a crazy amount of lag when the server runs in debug, and there's a crash issue with too many players trying to do one event.
  21. I can fully understand people being frustrated, and of course I'm sorry that I can't make the game work perfectly. I'm trying my best. I've put so much work into the art in this game, so much work into each and every part of the game. But it doesn't work perfectly, programming an MMORPG is hard. It's really not a task a small team can easily do, especially not with the engine, the resource and the money we have. I can understand frustration. But even so, I still have to enforce the rules when people are angry. If you're frustrated. Think about me. I've put 7 years of my time into this game, and all the years since 2003 learning to make games to make this game, and when there's an issue, I'm frustrated. I have 120 people waiting to play the game, and I'm doing everything I can to make it work.
  22. Today's Chunin Exam was cancelled due to instability issues. Thank you those who did come for attending, and sorry for wasting your time! Each village will be holding their own localized Chunin Exams (more information from your Kage) instead. Joint Chunin Exams and bi-monthly events will temporarily be ceased until we can resolve the crash. Refunds have been given to some of your team mates already, and if nobody from your team has been refunded, contact me ingame "Ueda".
  23. Dear Ninja, (Updated: 10th April 2019) After 1 year of Chunin Exams monthly, we've decided to scale back on the frequency of Chunin Exams to build up more anticipation for each of them. As such, we will be alternating between hosting Chunin Exams and Wars on the first Saturday of every month. More information about war events coming soon! As it goes, every thing else remains the same, including the time of the event. May will be a War Event, June will be a Chunin Exam and so on..! As the start of a new initiative to fulfill the initial design of Nin Online's ranking system. Beginning April 2018, there will be a Joint Chunin Exam, where both Sand Ninja and Leaf Ninja will participate in, on the first Saturday of every month. Chunin Exams details The event registration will take place at 1pm EST and the entire event will commence at 1:30pm EST. It may last anywhere between 1 - 3 hours depending on how far our Genins make it. Participants are expected to stay throughout the event for the best chance at promotion. The registration location will be announced in-game each month, on the event registration time. Requirements You are to form your own teams of 3 before or during the registration phase. There is no level requirement! Academy Students are not allowed to participate, you have to promote to Genin rank if you want to participate. The entry fee for each team is 15,000 Ryo, prepare to hand over the in-game currency to Shiken during the registration phase after a GM has verified you through the gate. Chunin/Jonin can enter teams to help conduct better RP, increasing chances for promotions. However, entry fee will no longer be waived for teams with Chunin/Jonin team leaders. Missing Ninja cannot participate in the Chunin Exams. Kages of each village have the right to debar ninja from their village from joining. Valid reasons include (but not limited to) misbehavior, breaking treaties, disobeying commands. Rules & Regulations In order to run the event smoothly, your cooperation is required, as such, rule breakers will be kicked from the event which may result in his/her entire team's disqualification. Stay in character Unless you need to ask a serious question, stay in character during the event. Remain online and active If you choose to go AFK and you miss calls for you, we will not wait for you. If you disconnect, quickly reconnect and inform a GM. Follow instructions The GMs and myself will be giving instructions to follow throughout the event Nothing is prohibited unless stated first by the proctor. The GMs will give instructions on what is prohibited in that particular exam. For example, unless explicitly stated, Chakra Pills and Blood Pills are not banned from use. Tips for excellence While these aren't rules, it is recommended to try you best so that you have the best chance for promotion. Make good use of any time given to showcase your RP and your character. Dress for success. If you're a Sand Genin, dress like a Sand Genin. If you are a Leaf Chunin, dress like a Leaf Chunin. Build relationships with the other participants beforehand so that RP is unique. Stand out in your own ways. Use /e to emote (eg. /e watches the fight in excitement) Conclusion The 4th Chunin Exam will be the last grand spectacle Chunin Exam, as of moving into beta phase and running the game as a service, we have to steadily move towards running regular events rather than grand unique ones. I can't promise changes on each exam, but we will try as often as possible. Regards, Rory
  24. Thank you for being kind. I don't expect people to be kind. I just expect them not to be unkind when I'm trying to fix the game they want to play.
