    Hello Ninja,

As you have noticed, weekly events have kind of stopped. I kind of lost interest in doing it weekly, and felt like the feedback wasn't where I wanted it to be. So, I'm going to do less Community Events, but have them be more about quality rather than efficiency. (2-3 a month)

This event is a pretty basic one, we want a Group Photo with all of your organization members, friends, clan members, whoever! Just take a photo with a maximum of 10 players (minimum of 2). You need to have one person in your group submit the picture to this post, preferably tagging everyone in the photo.

    Voting

This is how voting will work, and it's important you are active in your voting campaign, as your vote will be community based. To become the winner, you must have the most likes on your post. (We will check the likes and if any alts are caught voting, that vote will be removed - all accounts voting must be at least 1 week old).

    Recommendations & Rules

I recommend the photo is 1920x1080 resolution, but doesn't have to be.

Your photo must be in-game. NO PHOTOSHOPPING!

You can have up to 10 players in your photo, any more than that will be disqualified. (We understand organizations are bigger than 10 players, but that's just our maximum for prizes.)

Dress your best, maybe match, whatever you think will get your post the most likes!

    General Rules

    • Post your entry in this thread by making a reply.
    • You are only allowed to do 1 submission per contest.
    • Your entry should be 100% your own work. Plagiarism is very serious, you will be disqualified and warned.
    • You may use any form of art to express your entry (specifically for art-related events).
    • Your entry MUST have content related to Nin Online. Whether it be characters, symbols, logos, community relation, or anything. Just make sure it is related to Nin Online!
    • Your entry may not contain any offensive or rude comments or imagery. The entry should follow all community guidelines found here.
    • In the event one of our prizes is a Gold Ninja Rank, Gold and Silver Ninja will not be eligible for those prizes for obvious reasons, but may still attempt for other prizes.
    • Your entry should look like you put a bit of effort into it. (Stickmen, messy and quick sketches, etc.) (specifically for art-related events)
    • Should a tie occur between submissions, all who tied will split the winnings.
    • Honorable mentions may be rewarded as well, but that will be determined by the Event host.

    Prizes

The winning group will receive 10 Event Coupons each.

    Special Dates

    • Entries begin immediately.
    • Entries will close on May 9 at 12:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time.
    • Prizes & Winners will be announced on May 9 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.

    Good Luck,
    Jessica

    Quick Note/Apology

    Hello Ninja,

Sorry for the late post for this event, I've been overwhelmed with finals coming up, but I promise you that hasn't stopped me from doing these events! I will extend the end date until Wednesday next week to make it the same amount of time. This won't affect next week's event, but it will overlap meaning next week's event will start while this one is still going on.

Best of luck, and my apologies!

  3. Hello Ninja!

Sorry about the late announcement, Easter weekend was a roller coaster for me, so didn't have much time for Nin. Just remember there's no event this week, because the Chunin Exams are this week!!! The resolution was not a strict requirement, like Emiya's screenshot contest, so don't be surprised that 1080p didn't win. It was just a slight bonus.

    1st Place - 25 Event Coupons
    @Roei

    2nd Place - 15 Event Coupons
    @Corgee Sasayaki

    3rd Place - 5 Event Coupons
    @Shigure

Congratulations winners, whenever you see me online, hit me up for your prize!

    • Most sit animations implemented to sitting locations (benches, chairs, couches, etc.) in Nin. (Please contact us if you find any seats that do not add sit animation. There are a few exceptions that can't be sat in.)
    • Added Leaf & Sand War Advisors in Village Squares for Event.
    • New "War Enrollment Document" to enter into the War map for the War event. Will be used in future war events as well.

I think the better question is can Nins servers handle the lag involved in this event without crashing?

We have done larger scale events and the only person that crashed was Emiya lmao.

    4 hours ago, TetsuHawk said:

No its a thing we are still discussing this to solidify the amount, after all this is participation based right? So Participants have to agree to be part of this. 25 is kind of a high number but I think 10 is more reasonable. Getting the participants hasnt happened yet but I dont see there being an issue though.

Do as you need but communicate with @Deathmall Sasayaki.

  6. 6 minutes ago, Huranza said:

I don't think sand even has 25 ppl around atm

Both Death and Tetsu were told they can agree on a different amount of players, but Tetsu hasn't brought it up yet, so I'm entrusting he has a plan or maybe just didn't understand, I'd talk to him about it. The player amount is flexible, but that's between Death and Tetsu at this point, I set 25 as a base number.

    Hello Ninja,

The tensions between the Leaf and Sand are strong, and war has become inevitable. A GM/Village Roleplay event will be taking place on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. EST.

This war will take 25 ninja from each village, and make them battle in a battlefield. If you want to be one of these 25 ninja, you must contact your Kage and see what they are doing to recruit the 25 ninja they want in the battle. The Kage have 25 War Enrollment Documents that are needed to get into the battlefield during the time of the event, so you must have the document in your bag when you enter the battlefield. There will be a Leaf/Sand Jonin near your village gates named, "War Advisor", and they will take you to the battlefield in exchange for the enrollment documents.

The battlefield will be a map with random obstacles, but will mostly be a basic terrain such as grass. There will be 25 spots to stand on, and when you get into the map you must stand on one of them so that we can make sure each village has 25 people only.

    Rules

This is war...other than following Nin Online Guidelines, you can use any item/jutsu/tactic you want. This includes Toad Oils, Reviving, etc. Anything goes on the battlefield.

    Prizes

The village that wins this Village war will be provided a short opportunity to claim 10 Event Coupons from a Present in their village square. Only one village can win the village prize during this GM Event, so you'll want to make sure your 25 representatives will take home the win for the entire village.

    Best of luck,
    Jessica

  8. CommunityUpdate.png

    Dear Ninja,

The Spring Festival is over, and now April is on the horizon, which means it's time for your monthly community newsletter! We don't have a lot this month, but a few important things to mention. I'd like to mention Rory might be looking for Forum Mods soon, so if you are interested in helping out the community, get your application in just in case Rory starts looking: Staff Recruitment.

    New Prize System
With recent updates, we have implemented a new prize system. Instead of giving Nin Credit for event prizes, Rory has released an Event Coupon item that includes a Prize Shop (located in Takumi Village, North of the Hospital).

These Event Coupons equal about 1 Nin Credit, so things such as World Blessings are 5 Event Coupons. The Prize Shop also includes exclusive items that might not even have a spot in the Cash Shop, so that means you'll get things you can't even spend money on!

We are going to do our best to transition into purely Event Coupons, but don't worry, we still want to get some Nin Credit in your pockets, you just will not see Nin Credit as a GM prize that often anymore. Those prizes will more likely be reserved for larger contests.

    Event Updates
Last month, we had quite a few updates and news about events, and one new event announced were the Ninja Festivals. We also didn't do so well on getting more GM Roleplay events out, but this is what we will cover this month.

    Weekly Community Events
With the monthly community newsletters, I'm going to start including a list of upcoming weekly events so that you can start preparing your submissions earlier, especially for events that may take time such as art, video production, writing, etc. However, I'll only name the title of the event so that the description remains a mystery, so be careful, some may have themes you won't know until the announcement is released. Please remember that submissions must be posted after the entry date (so like the video contest, you'll need to wait until its announced to post it).

April 2nd: Break Week for Chunin Exams
    April 9th: Best Video Contest
    April 16th: Jutsu Concept Contest
    April 23rd: Group Photo Contest

We hope this gives you an idea of what's to come for our weekly community events, and hope you guys are enjoying them so far!

    Roleplay Events
We will now be hosting Roleplay specific events more often. Events will sometimes be announced in the forum if there are prerequisites for the event, but will mainly be found on the Event Calendar. Some examples of these events will be Hide and Seek, Village Invasion, Escort/Delivery Missions, Ninja Wars, etc. Prizes for these events will be claimable through a present placed in your village.

    Festival Event Feedback & Updates
The Spring Ninja Festival happened this past weekend, and it was quite the experience for me running a full scale event like that, but without a doubt, I am really happy with how well it went with my limited time to plan it out. I just kind of want to update you guys on a few things that will be changing for the Festivals to provide a more optimal experience for you guys.

    1. The Festivals will now be a weekend long, rather than a day long. The events will be more spread out across the event, meaning more main events, but during times that feel more applicable to the majority (but we'll still do some events at off times for those who are online at other times).
    2. The Festivals will now have automated events that will help you obtain more Festival Tokens. These events will kind of be like missions in the sense you'll be given tasks to finish the event.
    3. The drop rates will go down drastically from the first Festival. It was not my original plan to have grinding be the primary form to get tokens, but because trading tokens as a GM is so limited, we offered this option. However, I'll be working with Sezu to develop cool ideas that will actually be implemented in the game to automatically provide options to gain tokens rather than grinding. We will still do drop rates, and it will probably always be an option, but we don't want to promote it.
    4. The Festival Trials will change from festival to festival. I don't want to spoil what they may be in the summer, but it will not always require PvP skill. However, the Festival Trials will now feel more rewarding to people, even those who can't pass the trials.
    5. We will be implementing more items that are more expensive. The base line for cosmetics is 1k, then there will be 5k and 10k Festival Token items. We will make sure they're well worth it, though. If you are seeing 10k and are freaking out because you knew how difficult it was to get Tokens, just remember we're making them easier to get, so don't worry. We'll make sure if you at least work for it, you'll get it.
    6. The opening ceremony will happen at about 3:00 P.M. EST now rather than midnight. At first it was easier to do a 24 hour event by going from 12:00 A.M. EST to 12:00 A.M. EST, but since it is now a fully weekend, it feels more reasonable to make the time a time where more people can participate.
    7. We will no longer do Peace Time since some people had issues and didn't understand the consequences, instead the maps will become No Zones in which we use for the festival, which we will be hopefully transitioning into more Festival-specific maps so we don't have to touch current maps at all.

The Summer Ninja Festival will be announced on May 31, 2018. We hope you're looking forward to the next one! (We will give Gold and Silver Ninja an early sneak peak of the cosmetic items about a week before the announcement, so if you want this opportunity, head over to the Cash Shop and pickup the Gold Ninja rank!)

    Best Regards,
    Jessica

  11. Congratulations to this week's winners!

A lot of your signatures are awesome, some motivational, some inspiring, and some really described your character well. That being said, we picked ones that kind of touched on each area that a Forum Signature should really show. So, congratulations, your Nin Credit will be applied later tonight!

    @Caio

    2nd Place - $10.00 Nin Credit

    This Week's Event

We are releasing this event early, the Signature of the Week event is still going on, but since Art contests take more planning and execution, we want to give you the extra couple days to plan and then you can use this week to create your art.

"Festival Concept Pixel Art and Fanart"

Description: The very first ever Nin Online Ninja Festival will soon be upon us, and one of the biggest things about these events are obviously the events, but also the exclusive items that will come out each event. So, we wanted to give you guys a chance to draw art of either the upcoming two Dragon Festival Masks, or draw your own concepts of what you hope to get from future events (you never know, we might implement some of your ideas in the next festivals).

What you should know is, each festival has a basic theme. The Spring Festival is fire, Summer's theme is water, Autumn's theme is nature, and Winter's theme is ice/frost/snow. Use these themes to build concepts for your art, and if we like them, we might try our own version of them in the future.

    Accepted Art Styles
    - Drawing (please make sure the photocopy of the image is clearly visible)
    - Digital (any digital means to create art)
    - Pixel (you can create your own versions of the art in pixel form, but if you want the Nin Online base sprite, check here)

To enter, please follow the following format:

    Title of Entry:
    Festival: (Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter)

    insert your art here

Important: Breaking the plagiarism rule will disqualify you permanently from any artistic contest. We WILL be checking!

Your art MUST be based on the Festival themes.

    General Rules

    • Post your entry in this thread by making a reply.
    • You are only allowed to do 1 submission per week.
